Today (24th), the press center for the Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China held its first special group interview at the press conference hall of the Media Center in Beijing. It invited Major General Cai Zhijun, deputy director of the Military Parade Leading Group Office and deputy director of the Operations Bureau of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission; Major General Tan Min, executive deputy director of the Parade Joint Command Office and deputy chief of staff of the Central Theater of the Chinese People's Liberation Army; and Colonel Wu Qian, director of the Information Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense and spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense, to introduce the arrangements for the military parade and answer reporters' questions.

The Office of the Parade Leading Group and others introduced the arrangements for the parade: some new weapons and equipment of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Rocket Force and Strategic Support Force will be reviewed. Following the Zhurihe battlefield military parade and the special maritime military parade, a relatively high proportion of new weapons and equipment were unveiled for the first time.

Most of the formations are led by generals, who are jointly served by two commanders of the troops being reviewed. The number of generals exceeds that in the past, and it is the largest number of senior commanders who have been reviewed in history.

This military parade consists of 59 squares (echelons) and joint military bands, with a total size of about 15,000 people, more than 160 aircraft of various types, and 580 sets of equipment. It is the largest military parade in recent times.
